Fareham Local Grant programme

As part of our commitment to a more sustainable form of local grant-making, in Fareham (Hants) we have established multi-year funding charity partnerships with Step by Step, Solent Mind, Kids, Alzheimer's Society Singing for the Brain in Eastleigh and The Society of St James. Chosen by Zurich employees in Fareham, these will remain in place until 2020.

The good news, however, is that we still have an annual grant pot of £45,000 to award to other deserving local causes - but please do look at our funding criteria first!.

So if you are a small local charity or community group, your beneficiaries are situated within 25 miles of our office in Fareham in Hampshire (PO15 7JZ), and you help to improve the quality of life for disadvantaged people, we may be able to help you with a small grant of up to £3,000.

For this programme, any applications over £3000 will not be considered. In addition, if a charity has been awarded a grant by the committee in 2017 or 2018, we will be unable to consider another application until 2020.

Fareham application window is NOW CLOSED.

The Fareham local grants application window is now CLOSED.

If you would like to submit an application, please either drop Kerry Chambers an email at kerry.chambers@zct.org.uk or give her a ring on 07841 562892 to discuss your potential project. The application windows are subject to early closure if there is a high demand. Please check that the window is open before contacting Kerry to discuss your potential application.

There will be 3 application windows during 2019.

1st Window - closed on Friday 22 February

2nd Window – closed on Friday 31 May

Due to an overwhelming number of applications, the third application window has been cancelled as all available funds have now been allocated. Please check back here in January 2020 when details will be provided for the next available application windows.

If you've spoken with Kerry and she's shared the application form link with you, here's some useful information:

- BEFORE starting to complete the form, please take the time to read through all the questions to make sure you have all the required details to hand. It is not possible to save the form as you are completing it, so this is essential.

- Supporting documents - please ensure you have your latest Annual Report and Accounts (in Word, pdf or other emailable format) to submit along with the form - you will be prompted to attach these at the end of the application process. PLEASE NOTE, you will be unable to submit the form without attaching the supporting document(s).

- Once you have completed the form please click on the 'Submit application' button at the bottom of the form to submit this and the supporting documentation to the Zurich Community Trust team.

The Local Grant Committee gives careful consideration to all applications. However, the demand for grants nearly always exceeds the amount of funds available. This means that some good applications, whilst meeting our criteria, still have to be rejected.

Looking for volunteers? We may be able to help!

We run a number of programmes to enable Zurich employees to share their time and/or business skills with their local community. All bring tremendous benefits to the voluntary organisations and the people they work with. We may be able to help you too!

Listed below are some of the things we do:

Annual Challenge - mainly practical one-off projects, which teams of staff can take up. For example, decorating, DIY, day trips or gardening.

Skillshare - short term projects, taking typically 10 hours, and where staff share their business skills in areas such as marketing, HR, finance and IT.

Need another pair of hands? If you're looking for one-off support - eg acting as a marshall at a running event or manning  a stall - get in touch. We're sometimes able to find just the right person.

Contact Kerry Chambers on 07841 562892 or email kerry.chambers@zct.org.uk for any help with volunteering support.
