Our ZCT elves have been super busy sourcing a sack load of projects for you and your teams to pick from! Whether sprinkling trees with tinsel, wrapping presents with ribbon, or spreading joy with a jolly party - we have lots of ways you can make it a tree-mendous Christmas in your community!   

With a mixture of virtual and face-to-face
 projects, and up to £500 provided per challenge, it couldn't be easier!

BIRM1F    Happy Hampers 


The Challenge 

Festive hamperBirmingham Settlement would like a team to arrange Christmas hampers for the Ageing Well group in Kingstanding. The charity will be providing a Christmas lunch, but they would love some additional support on the day. You’ll be helping serve the lunch, running a few accessible games (e.g. quizzes and board games) and handing out the hampers. It is important to note that some members are rather frail, with others having hearing and sight difficulties, so this will need to be considered when planning the activities for the day.

Birmingham Settlement

Birmingham Settlement tackles social inequality and supports disadvantaged communities, helping people to overcome the barriers they may be faced with. In response to issues such as financial hardship, isolation, unemployment and health inequalities, they provide a range of services to enable people to live happy and healthy lives.

BIRM2F    Prizes Galore!   


The Challenge 

Reindeer imageWhere Next are holding their annual Christmas party on Thursday 7 December, from 7pm, at their Redditch site. Their clients love the event, which includes a disco, buffet and, the highlight of the night, the raffle! They would like your team to source the raffle prizes. Where Next will guide you on what items to buy. You will need to make the purchases, add a Christmas bow and send them to the charity. Of course, if you are free on the evening and would like to attend the party, you are more then welcome!     

Where Next Association

Established in 1984, Where Next is a local charity providing meaningful work opportunities in a safe, supported environment, for adults with learning disabilities. They also offer lots of social activities and engage, as much as they can, within their local community.

BIRM3F    Party Time! 


The Challenge

You will need to source the food and soft drinks to ensure the party is well catered for and has all those little festive touches. Of course, if you are free on the evening and would like to attend, you are more then welcome!

BIRM4F    Festive Lunch 1,2,3        


The Challenge 

FC Father xmasAcacia would like to put on a fun and festive Christmas lunch for their amazing volunteers, but they need your help! Your job will be to source small Christmas gifts for the volunteers and, if possible, facilitate a festive quiz or game on the day! If you can't make the lunch, organising the gifts would still be a huge help. There will be three festive lunches, each held in their three centres around the second or third week in December, therefore, this challenge can be picked up by multiple teams. The locations are: Erdington (B73 5HU) on Wednesdays for around 10-15 volunteers, Northfield (B31 1QS) on Wednesdays (around 15 volunteers) and Walmley (B76 1QN) on Thursdays (around 20 volunteers).

Acacia Family Support

Acacia Family Support provides, free of charge, a wide range of individual, group based and peer support services to help parents recover from the symptoms associated with pre and postnatal depression and anxiety.

BIRM5F    Santa's Little Helpers     


The Challenge 

FC Xmas parcelsCash for Kids challenge you to collect as many presents as you can (unwrapped and new) using your £500 budget. You will then deliver them to Mission Christmas HQ. Here, you will be one Santa's little elves by helping to sort all of the presents into age order and helping to pack requests ready for collections. Just imagine the smiles of the young children on Christmas morning! You can be as festive as you want, dress up, wear Christmas hats or even bring along some mince pies to keep your energy levels up. Mission Christmas HQ opens weekdays from 27 November to 22 December, hours are 9:30am-5:30pm with an hour for lunch. This challenge can be booked by multiple teams.

Cash for Kids   

Cash for Kids is a grant-giving charity, helping the children that need it most, across the UK. Their mission is to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in the community, who are affected by poverty, illness, neglect or have additional needs. They believe that all children should be able to express their individuality, achieve their potential and live life to the full.

BIRM6F     Quizmas Fun   


The Challenge 

FC Candy CaneSIFA is organising a Christmas quiz for their wonderful volunteers, who work tirelessly throughout the year. They already have a quizmaster in place, however, they would like your team to purchase £20 gift vouchers for each member of the winning team. Your team will also be required to spread some cheer by purchasing some Christmas nibbles for the event, such as crisps, mince pies, cake etc. SIFA will be able to advise on what is needed and you are welcome to attend this fun event to support on the day if you like!

SIFA Fireside is a charity that supports homeless and vulnerable adults. Based in Digbeth, Birmingham, they supports clients in their recovery from the effects of homelessness. From essential services, such as the Adult Support Hub, their Tenancy Support Services and the essential needs met through their drop-in centre, their range of services exist not to throw money at the issues, but to stand by people while they rebuild their lives with safety and dignity.

BIRM8F    Merry Memories  


The Challenge 

Ginger bread menAge UK are looking for a team to host a festive lunch for users of their dementia cafes in Sandwell. There will be around 30-40 people in attendance - patients and their carers. The festive event will be a wonderful celebration with a buffet lunch, including all the usual party trimmings, such as hats, crackers, and table decorations. This is sure to be a really fun and rewarding challenge!

Age UK Sandwell

Age UK Sandwell supports older people, promoting wellbeing and helping make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience. Their dementia cafes are where groups of dementia patients, and their carers, meet up for tea and refreshments and take part in activities. They learn about specialist activities which can be repeated at home, whilst the carers benefit from talking to support officers and other carers in attendance.

BIRM9F    A Festive Feast  


The Challenge 

christmas-puddingAge UK would like to hold a festive celebration lunch for around 30 of their service users. There will be a presentation and some wellbeing activities organised by the charity. Your job will be to support with the food and drink donations for the lunch. You will also be required to help set up, serve, talk with their clients and make it a real festive, fun day for their clients. The event will give a sense of community and belonging, which is so important as many older people spend the holiday period alone.

Age UK Birmingham

Age UK Birmingham supports older people. Their aim is to promote the wellbeing of all older people in Birmingham and make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience.

BIRM10F    Tinsel and Sparkle   


The Challenge 

FC Xmas TreeSIFA would like you and your colleagues to head down to their support centre to decorate it and make it all 'Christmassy' for the users. SIFA have about eight Christmas trees that need putting up and decorating. They have other lights and decorations that need to go up too. The users will be on hand to help, so don't worry if you're a small team, there will be help available. You will need to pop down a week or so before you're going in, to decorate to check their lights and assess if any new items may be needed. Don't worry, you have your challenge budget help restock old or broken items!
