WHIT1F Canine Carol Concert 


The Challenge

Canine Partners are hosting a carol service at Arundel Cathedral on Thursday 14 December in the evening, with doors opening at 5.45pm. As part of this carol service, they would like your help in in purchasing a couple of hampers for their raffle. This challenge can be done virtually or your team would be welcome to attend the carol service and help volunteer on the night.

Canine Partners transforms the lives of people with physical disabilities by partnering them with assistance dogs. Their amazing dogs bring a greater independence and quality of life to their partners, offering security, companionship, and practical help with everyday household tasks. These life-changing dogs also provide psychological and social benefits including increased independence, confidence, social interaction and self-esteem.

WHIT2F Christmas Fair


FC Candy CaneThe Challenge

Enable Ability's Christmas Fair is taking place on Saturday 2 December at Landport Community Centre, from approximately 12-3pm. The event is filled with range of festivities, including Santa's grotto, food, local stallholders, animals, and various charity activity stalls. The charity would really like your help in providing prizes for their stall and assistance on the day, if possible.

Enable Ability

Enable Ability is a Portsmouth based charity that supports children, young people and adults with disabilities living in Portsmouth and across South-East Hampshire. Enable Ability's 15 specialist services are carefully designed around service users, participants, and their family's needs to ensure participants receive full benefit from the service(s) they attend. Services are available predominantly during school holidays, but also during evenings and weekends. They include play schemes, one-to-one befriending, advocacy, an employability social enterprise, wheelchair basketball and youth groups.

WHIT3F  It's Behind You ...!


The Challenge

FC Xmas parcelsFair Oak Village Hall are holding their Christmas pantomime for the local community on Saturday 16 December from 2pm. They would like to provide presents for approximately 40 children that will be attending. The charity would love your help in buying and wrapping the Christmas presents and helping Father Christmas on the day. If your team is unable to help on the day in person, they would welcome the presents to be sent to them instead. The charity can provide you with a list of items to buy for the children.

Fair Oak Village Hall Management Committee

Fair Oak Village Hall supports and operates a local community centre, providing a venue for many activities for the community including dance classes, pre-school classes, coffee mornings for Age Concern, social groups, gardening clubs, WI and many more.

WHIT4F  A Helping Hand This Christmas


Festive hamperThe Challenge

Fareham & Gosport Foodbank would like your help with providing some Christmas food and essential items for some of the 100 people they support currently. The charity can provide a list of suitable basic items for their food parcels, as well as some extra festive treats to make their Christmas the best it can be. The charity can collect the items, if it is not possible for you to deliver to their foodbank in Fareham. They would like this challenge to be completed by early December to allow for deliveries to their most needed families, in time for Christmas.

Fareham & Gosport Foodbank ( AKA The Basics Bank)

Fareham & Gosport Foodbank are a small well established charity, providing food and essential items to support local people in times of crisis. They rely on donations and provide food parcels, toiletries, nappies, and household cleaning items, as needed. Demand has increased significantly in recent years, particularly at Christmas, as people struggle to buy the basics.

WHIT5F  Fareham & Gosport Young Carers Christmas Party


The Challenge

FC Xmas party imageFareham & Gosport Young Carers are planning a Christmas party on Thursday 21 December in Stubbington, Fareham between 2-4pm, for approximately 50 of their young carers. They would like a team to help arrange some Christmas decorations, buffet food with crackers and a small gift for each attendee, such as a selection box. They have a DJ already booked. To add to the event, they would welcome you to dress up in a Christmas outfit or jumper, if you're able to attend!

Fareham & Gosport Young Carers

Fareham & Gosport Young Carers is a local charity supporting young carers aged 8-18 years old in their caring role. They provide fortnightly age appropriate support clubs during term time and day trips during the school holidays. Currently, they have 90 young people who access support. They also support young carers within Royal Navy families within the local area. They aim to raise awareness with local organisations and schools of young carers needs.

WHIT6F  Christmas Stockings From Santa 


The Challenge

FC Xmas parcelsFriends of PICU would like a team of Santa's Helpers to help put together 20 Christmas stockings for the children on the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Christmas. You should include small generic items for a range of ages (newborn to 18 years), such as toiletries, story books for parents to read to their children, small Christmas craft activities or sensory toys.

Friends of PICU

Friends of PICU supports the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at University Hospital Southampton, by providing vital equipment and services, in addition to those provided by the statutory authorities. No child, or family member, will pass through PICU without being helped by equipment and resources that Friends of PICU has purchased and donated, no matter how big or small, expensive or low-cost.

Headway is a charity that supports people with a brain injury. They support the family members and carers, as well as the service users. They support their members to understand, adapt and accept the changes that a brain injury brings to their lives, enabling them to achieve maximum independence.

The Challenge

FC Xmas party imageHeadway Southampton's service users and carers are holding their Christmas party week at their premises in Commercial Road, Southampton, starting from 18 December from 10-3pm. They would like a team to provide some Christmas buffet food, games, and popcorn. The charity would also like some hamper items for approximately 40 of their service users to enjoy over the Christmas period. The charity would like you to attend one of the days during the party week, if possible.

Headway, Southampton

Headway Southampton is an independent charity, supporting people from Southampton, New Forest, Eastleigh, Winchester, Romsey and Fareham. They offer support, advice, and rehabilitation services to adults with an acquired brain injury (ABI), which can happen to anyone at any time following a stroke, heart attack, head trauma or accident. Their mission is to improve the lives and promote the independence of local ABI survivors. They also provide support and advice to their families, friends and carers and raise awareness of the life changing effects of brain injury.

The Challenge

FC Xmas TreeMarvels & Meltdowns are holding their autism friendly Santa's grotto event on Saturday 9 December. The charity would like your team's help in providing some gifts for the children to receive from Santa, who will make a visit on the day. The charity can give you a list of items to buy for the children and they would also like you to support on the day, if possible, offering festive hot chocolates and helping the families with craft activities.

Marvels and Meltdowns

Marvels and Meltdowns are a local parent-led charity that supports families of children with autistic spectrum conditions and/or ADHD. They do this through the provision of weekly parent and carer support group meetings, family inclusive activities during school holidays and also offer a community drop-in service to raise awareness and educate the wider community on these conditions.

Minstead Trust want to make sure their service users have a wonderful Christmas. They would like a team's help in buying some gift bags filled with Christmas goodies. The charity can help with some suggestions of items they would like to receive.

Minstead Trust have two day centres, one in Portsmouth and one in Minstead. They would like a team to help buy buffet food and drinks, for each location. Dates for the parties can be arranged with the charity and staff will be at both locations to help organise the events on the day. The charity would like a team to attend both venues, if possible, but this is not essential. The charity would be grateful for supermarket vouchers if a team cannot make both dates.

WHIT14F   That's A Wrap! 


The Challenge

FC Xmas parcelsNo Limits would like to invite a team to spend a morning wrapping Christmas gifts for the young people they support at their Advice Centre in Southampton. It will be a fun morning with Christmas music and mince pies and if the team can provide wrapping paper, ribbons, tags and some gifts, they would be very grateful. The charity can provide a list of gift items. A date on a Wednesday in late November or early December would be preferable.

No Limits (South)

No Limits is a Southampton based charity supporting vulnerable children and young people throughout Hampshire. They aim to support young people under the age of 26 with a wide range of issues, including mental health, homelessness, relationships, substance abuse and more. No Limits provides counselling, support groups as well as workshops and outreach to young people through the No Limits Advice Centre, workshops in schools and colleges and youth workers stationed in five of Hampshire's emergency departments. All advice and support is free, confidential and non-judgemental.

WHIT15F  Portsmouth DSA Christmas Festivity


The Challenge

Ginger bread menThe Portsmouth Down Syndrome Association are holding their annual Christmas party on Wednesday 29 November from 10am-midday and they are expecting around 160 people to attend. They really want a team to help buy and wrap toys for some of the young babies and children that will be attending with their families. The party will give the families chance to relax and socialise and for the children to visit Santa's grotto. The charity can help with a list of items to buy. Entertainment has already been arranged from the award winning Singing Hands team, who joyfully encourage the use of Maketon signing.

Portsmouth Down Syndrome Association

Portsmouth Down Syndrome Association provides friendship, support and a vast range of some of the best specialist services in the UK, from the point of diagnosis, that their families wouldn't otherwise receive. They train thousands of parents, education professionals and health workers each year. Families can sometimes feel isolated, so they also provide lots of opportunities to socialise as well as seasonal parties for their members.

QE2 Activity Centre has been providing activity opportunities for people with disabilities for over 40 years. In addition to adventure activities, like canoeing and climbing, they run a day service for adults with learning disabilities.

Rowans Hospice are holding their annual Lake of Lights event at Canoe Lake in Southsea on Sunday 17 December from 5pm. They are expecting approximately 800-1000 attendees, who will light up a candle whilst reflecting on memories of their loved ones who are no longer with us. The charity would like a team to help buy and serve some of the refreshments to their supporters during the event.

Stop Domestic Abuse would really appreciate your help in supporting approximately 20 young children aged between 11-15 years, with age-appropriate gifts for Christmas. The charity can help with some suggestions of items, as well as the ratio of girls and boys. Christmas can cause a lot of stress and anxiety for some of the children, so the charity try and make it as positive and supportive as possible.

Stop Domestic Abuse provide a very unique service. They provide crisis accommodation for women and children fleeing domestic abuse. They are a child-centred, holistic refuge charity, where the physical environment is as much a part of their recovery as the specialist support they provide.

Second Chance have a nature reserve that the children attend to enjoy some peace, space and to just be youngsters. This small charity would really appreciate some help with some maintenance, as well as purchasing and planting of bulbs for the next season at the reserve. A date can be arranged from the end of October through to mid-December.

Second Chance Charity

Second Chance was founded in 1984 and focuses on children from deprived backgrounds, around Portsmouth and the south coast. The charity takes the youngsters fishing and uses this popular leisure time to establish links of communication between youngsters and the volunteer adults, It gives children a sense of achievement, confidence, and social understanding.

Ginger bread menSolent Mind would like a team to join them at their new shop in Gosport High Street, during the early part of December. They would like your help with providing festive decorations, mince pies and cream to their visitors, as well as purchasing some prizes for their tombola.

Solent Mind

Solent Mind is a mental health support charity. Their Fareham and Gosport Wellbeing centre provides free mental health support to local people within the boroughs and surrounding areas. They offer 1:1 and group support, teaching skills to help people better manage their own mental health.

The Challenge

FC Xmas parcelsSpotlight UK would like some help with their Christmas Toy Appeal. The charity wants to distribute Christmas presents to approximately 50 vulnerable young people and children, within the local area. Many of the children will be going without presents this year, so their aim is to ensure that all children have a positive, memorable Christmas and a gift from Santa. This challenge can be booked by more than one team.

Spotlight UK

Spotlight UK provide emotional and practical support and free activities for children and young people from low income families, children in care, individuals with mental health issues, those affected by domestic abuse or children affected by loss and separation.

The Challenge

FC Xmas party imageStop Domestic Abuse would like a team to help arrange a Christmas party for approximately 100 of their refuge residents and community-based survivors in Havant. They would like help to hire a venue, party entertainment, such as a disco or music for the children, buffet food and soft drinks. If possible, they would love Father Christmas to attend on the day, if he is not too busy, to give a small gift to the children. They would also love a grotto to be set up for Father Christmas to meet the children in.

Brendoncare Foundation are celebrating their 40th anniversary. They want to try and raise as much money as possible to reach their £20,000 target and are looking for help from their supporters . They would like a team to help buy some exciting prizes, such as a hamper, spa vouchers, beauty treatments or fine dining vouchers. They would need these gifts by early November for the raffle which will be taking place in the week commencing Monday 27 November.

The Brendoncare Foundation

Brendoncare Clubs is a well-established and trusted community service, offering a lifeline to over 1600 older people vulnerable to loneliness, through 94 volunteer-led activity clubs across Hampshire and Dorset and open seven days a week.

The LifeHouse Soup Kitchen and Drop-In Centre would appreciate some Christmas packs to hand out to their most vulnerable and impoverished guests, just before Christmas. Items to include would be socks, hand warmers, food items such as Christmas cake, selection boxes and some treats to make all the guests feel appreciated. The charity would welcome you to attend the centre during December to help give out the packs at a convenient time, or you can drop off the items at your convenience.

The LifeHouse Soup Kitchen and Drop-In Centre is a resource and support centre. They serve hot food in Southsea for the homeless, rough sleepers, sofa surfers and anyone feeling disconnected, not feeling well in themselves, feeling lonely and lacking friendship. The LifeHouse offers free hot breakfasts, brunch and dinners, and gives those in need a place to socialise and know they will never go hungry.

The Rainbow Centre for Conductive Education Ltd

The Rainbow Centre is a specialist charity, supporting adults and children suffering with neurological conditions including, but not limited to, cerebral palsy, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, strokes and brain injuries. Set within a purpose-built facility in Fareham,  they provide an intensive, holistic service supporting not only adults and children, but also providing information, advice and peer support to those caring for them.

The Salvation Army are running their Christmas toy and food appeal to help around 200 people and families in their community, who would otherwise go without. It would be amazing if a team could buy and collect toys and food. Specific details can be provided in terms of food (non-perishable) and any new toys for children and young people, 0-19 years would be fantastic. The charity can advise on items they need most, and they would ideally like to receive any donations by the beginning of December in time to distribute.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army in Portsmouth provides services for a variety of groups of people in an area of deprivation. They provide a food bank, nursery care for vulnerable and key worker children, telephone support and home shopping for older people and activities, craft and cooking packs for older people and families.

The Challenge

The charity would love some help in obtaining some essential treats and care packages, which will spread some joy and happiness over the Christmas period. The YOU Trust is a social care charity with its head office in Fareham. They provide support to people with learning disabilities, mental health, domestic violence and abuse, homelessness, young people, social prescribing, counselling and social welfare advice.

The Challenge

FC Xmas parcelsYellow Door would like to help their service clients who are struggling with the cost of living. They would like to provide approximately 70 of them with some small gifts, during what can be a very difficult time of year. WHIT34F  A Christmas Trail 


The Challenge

Ginger bread menYMCA Fairthorne Manor are running their annual Christmas trail again this year. They need as much help as possible in the setting up and preparation for their breakfast and afternoon tea area. They would also like some support in preparing and wrapping some Christmas gifts for children attending the event. There is lots of other jobs that need to be done before the event, such as decorating the outdoors of the site and internal rooms. The charity will need help from late November through to the middle of December. This challenge can be booked by multiple teams.

YMCA Fairthorne Manor

YMCA Fairthorne Manor is an outdoor 94 acre activity centre in Botley. On their site, they offer a range of programmes for schools, day camps (for children during the holidays) and programmes to suit their local communities. These programmes include a campsite, parent and toddler groups and seasonal woodland trails for the whole family.

WHIT35F YMCA Christmas Food Parcels


The Challenge

christmas-puddingYMCA Andover provide vulnerable families in crisis, and those struggling with the cost-of-living crisis, with food parcels on a fortnightly basis. During the Christmas season, they want to offer the same service, but with a few added extras for cooking a Christmas lunch. They'd like to include items such as potatoes, vegetables, gravy granules and a pudding, as well as treats such as mince pies, a box of chocolates and maybe a small present for some of the children. The charity would like a team to help prepare some of the food boxes at their Eastleigh Community Centre and buy some items to go into the food hampers. A convenient date in early December can be arranged with the charity, along with a list of suggested food items.

YMCA Fairthorne Group

YMCA Fairthorne Group is a charity that supports children, young adults and families to live happy, healthy lives. They run community centres, homes for young adults who do not have a safe place to stay, providers early year nurseries and have an outdoor activity centre.

Young Lives vs Cancer would love around 12 to 15 hampers, to give to the families at Jean's House in Shirley. A list can be supplied by the charity of what to include in the hampers.

Young Lives vs Cancer (formally CLIC Sargent)

Young Lives vs Cancer helps babies and young people up to 24 years of age with cancer, as well as supporting their families. When a child is diagnosed with cancer, most families have to travel to their nearest principal treatment centre. Jean's House in Southampton offer a "Home from Home" facility for families who are given a place to stay, so they can be close to their child receiving treatment for cancer, free of charge for as long as they need.
