 BRIG1  Celebration Day

The Challenge      Entertainment icon

Balloons imageA small group of volunteers (two to four) are needed to help support Chailey with their Celebration Day, which is all about their young people. There will be awards given out to the young people for things they have achieved, along with exciting activities and games for all. Your job will be to provide prizes for the raffle and/or tombola and help run the stall for them. Your budget can also be used towards the entertainment, such as a face painter or balloon artist. The date of the event will be Friday 12 or Friday 19 July - tbc. It's expected to be from 10am-2pm, but again this is to be confirmed. If you can only spare a couple of hours helping out, that is fine too!

Chailey Heritage foundation

Chailey Heritage Foundation provides education and care services, and is one of the UK's leading centres, for children and young people with complex neurodisabilities. Most of the young people accessing services have severe cerebral palsy, and many have visual and/or other sensory impairments. All are wheelchair users and very few have verbal communication. The charity believes that each child and young person should have every opportunity to fulfil their potential, no matter what the challenges.

 BRIG3  Walking with Pride

The Challenge  Entertainment icon

Grace Eyre will be taking part in the Brighton Pride parade this year. They are opting to walk in the parade to have greater engagement with the crowds, to raise awareness and promote inclusivity of people with a learning disability and/or autism and celebrate their identity. The challenge is for a team to contribute to the creation of a fabulously decorated walking group, with banners, flags, balloons and t-shirts. The parade takes place on Saturday 3 August - you would also be welcome to join the walking group on the day.

The Grace Eyre Foundation

The Grace Eyre Foundation is a local charity that supports people with a learning disability and/or autism, across Brighton & Hove. They believe that people should be treated as equal citizens and be a part of our communities. They want to champion a society where difference is celebrated and access to housing, transport and job opportunities is equally available. They also encourage the people they support to try new things, live healthy and happy lives, build strong relationships and, above all, feel listened to.

 BRIG4  Airbourne Ground Force

The Challenge     Lend a hand

You Raise Me Up need as many volunteers as possible to support them at the Airbourne Annual event, held in Eastbourne. The airshow will run from Thursday 15 August to Sunday 18 August. Over the course of the four days, volunteers are needed to help with things like bucket collections for the charity. They are also hoping to have a stall, so help here will also be needed. This opportunity is open to all staff, family, friends and even customers! You can decide on the date and time you support, so don't worry you're not expected to help on all four days! Whether you've got three hours to spare or six, this is a great challenge to get involved with and it will certainly be a fun day!

You Raise Me Up

You Raise Me Up is a local charity that raises funds to support families that have suffered the loss of a young person aged 16-25 years.
