Summer party 2On Thursday 6 June (4-7pm) the charity will be hosting a Summer Mix & Mingle event for all their volunteers at the hospice, along with their patients and staff. There will be around 80 people attending and they would like a small team to help by having a cake and Pimm's stand for the guests to enjoy, along with a small raffle with three or four prizes on offer.

Katharine House Hospice

Katharine House Hospice provides specialist palliative care to patients over 18, in the local community, who have been diagnosed with life-limiting illnesses. They take a holistic approach, considering physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. They also support their family and friends through the journey. They have living well services (day care) and a community nursing team, supporting patients at home.

CHIP2 Anniversary Afternoon Tea!

The Challenge Lend a hand

The charity is organising a 25th anniversary afternoon tea, with speeches and music, at the Town Hall in Chipping Norton. They would like a team to dress the hall for them with balloons, bunting, tablecloths, and napkins and to source vintage crockery for 80 people. They would very much appreciate your help with serving the afternoon tea to guests seated at trestle tables, but have already engaged the services of a caterer to prepare the tea, sandwiches, scones, and cakes.

CHIP3 Summer Party Fun!

The Challenge Entertainment icon

Summer partyEvery year, the charity holds a summer party for their adult members and this year the party will take place on Wednesday 17 July. Around 60 people attend, along with support from staff and volunteers. It would be great to have extra helpers at the party to provide goody bags and help with other aspects of the event, such as offering glitter art for the attendees. Could this be your team?

Yellow Submarine

Yellow Submarine believe people with learning disabilities and autism deserve to live life to the full. They tackle the problem that many people with learning disabilities leave school with limited life skills and, as a result, poor life chances. This often leads to isolation and being marginalised. Their projects start working with young people in community settings from the age of 11 onwards, to build their social skills, confidence, independence and, ultimately, their employability. At the same time, they are supporting families and carers with respite.
